About Island Home Medical

A Message from John Curelli, R.R.T. 

In 1974, having developed the Cardiopulmonary Department for Martha's Vineyard Hospital, I saw a need for in-home oxygen, respiratory care and supplies on the Island. In order to meet the requirements of physicians and patients, I founded Respiratory Home Services.      

Over the past 40 years, my family and I have had the honor of serving countless families on the island. The community of Martha’s Vineyard has come to depend on our company because of the clinical expertise we offer, the experienced team we employ, and our dedication to quality improvement, day after day. 

As our business has grown, we've expanded what we offer to include in-home medical, mobility and accessibility equipment, as well as oxygen and respiratory services and support. Feeling that our company name no longer clearly communicated what we do, we changed it in May 2014 to Island Home Medical.

My son, Ben, who has helped me from a young age, joined the business full-time in 2013. Ben and I will continue to own and operate the business—just as we have been—and Island Home Medical will continue to be the one source on Martha's Vineyard for professional home oxygen, respiratory services, and medical products. You can be assured of the availability and dependability that you deserve, and the timely response you expect.
